Corsica Rose 2014 Domaine Vico

Fruity, minerally, light-body rose wine
Grape: 60% Niellucciu, 30% Grenache, 10% Sciaccerellu.
Region: France> Corsica Island.
Notes: Sustainable farming. No oak.


A beautiful salmon color with lively aromas of red currant and raspberries on the nose. Supple and fruity in
the mouth followed by a beautiful acidity and a generous finish. Corsica is an Island off the southeast coast of France in the Mediterranean Sea. The wines of Corsica compliment the cuisine, which is, surprisingly, not seafood centered, but heavy on wild boar, Corsican pork, polenta (from chestnuts), goat, and sheep cheese. Domaine Vico overlooks the Golo Valley with mountain vineyards planted in 1902. Family winery totally modernized and renovated making very complex wines. Fermented in concrete tanks, then aged for 6 months on the lees.

Food pairing: aperitif, charcuterie, roasted veal, salmon, and herbed goat cheese.
